Primavera Festival
Jan 30, 2012 - 7:11 PM

GDOT has recently joined with our cultural community in the new Primavera Festival, a collective effort to build a world class festival, tap new audiences, and put Gainesville on the cultural destination map. Primavera will showcase Gainesville’s and Alachua County’s cultural events occurring during the spring season of March 20 – April 22, 2012, and annually thereafter. Just as the members of GDOT are more powerful joined together, our community’s cultural events and organizations working together can create a bigger marketing presence and draw more visitors to our events.

GDOT is joining Primavera with such members of our cultural community as UF Performing Arts, the Harn Museum, Florida Museum of Natural History, the Santa Fe Spring Arts Festival, and the Hippodrome to name a few.

As a Primavera Showcase partner, GDOT and its members with music, arts, and other cultural events will be promoted in a variety of ways, including social media, program guide, website, and poster. A comprehensive Primavera marketing campaign through local, national, and international media will also be done including travel bloggers, social media, article placement, PSA's, and print ads (see attached print ads currently going to publication in Florida, the midwestern US, Canada, and Germany). Primavera is devoted to sharing your story and promoting Gainesville as a prime springtime, cultural destination.

To help us market your music and cultural events occurring March 20 - April 22, please send your event name and dates, your business info (business name, address, website, contact person), and press materials (press release, press quality photos, and logos) immediately. Include a description of any ways you are currently marketing your event so it can be folded into the overall Primavera campaign. The Primavera website www.PrimaveraFestival.us is filling with images and now is the time to get featured: send in your event images and information and you’ll start getting the marketing value!

Primavera is debuting this year and will grow year by year into what will be our community's annual, signature cultural festival. We encourage you to begin planning now to include Primavera in your event scheduling for next year and 2014. Through Primavera we'll grow our reputation, develop our cultural economy, and ultimately partner with the technology sector to establish Gainesville as an arts-tech hub city.
