BELL, Fla. — Gilchrist County deputies say drugs have been an ongoing problem in the county for years; and with helpful tips from concerned homeowners deputies completed their latest drug bust….Operation:n “Time's Up."
"We know that we have a problem in our county with illegal narcotics. We're going to continue aggressively, going after these individuals until I'm done being Sheriff,” said Gilchrist County Sheriff Robert Schultz.
Those calls led them to this home in Bell. On Friday night, investigators arrested the following five people...
Christina Bell, Johnny Dees, Ashley Sheffield, Eugene Shiflett, and Tracy Hobby Jr. for possession of substances such as cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana, and other prescription drugs.
Lieutenant Scotty Douglas says Hobby Jr. has been a person of high interest for seven years.
"Nobody could get to him….and through our deligence , hard work and many hours is how we got some more information and he was able to be arrested,” said Lieutenant Douglas.
Tracy Hobby Jr. is currently being held in the Gilchrist County Jail with a bond set at 630,000 dollars.
"This is a great relief off my back because even the one that I was after for so long. I know our sheriff has taken so any complaints rom him and now it's a done deal,” said Lieutenant Douglas.
Sheriff Schultz has a message for those who are still dealing illegal narcotics in the county...
"We're going to search you out, we're going to investigate you. Through the framework of the law and the Constitution and a lot of hard work make sure you are held accountable,” he said.
Deputies are also looking for Christopher Jackson who is also involved in this drug operation and has a warrant out for his arrest.
